Our expanded 12-day IDC program aims to make the transition from Padi Divemaster/Assistant Instructor to Padi Open Water Scuba Instructor low stress and a very enjoyable learning experience.
All IDC candidates will be expected to put in 100% effort, but you will of course have a lot of fun and enjoy your course at the same time.
We emphasize the importance of team spirit and cooperation, which are some of the most important factors towards a successful future as a diving professional.
A great deal of effort and hard work from your Course Director and Staff-Instructors, ensures you the best possible back-up and support during your IDC. We are sure you will find this to be an very rewarding learning experience.
To greatly improve Candidate teaching presentations, they will be recorded on video.
Being able to see your classroom and confined presentations on video will make the learning process more realistic and enjoyable for you.
We also know the importance of having a Course Director who is able to speak your first language;
Stein will be present to clarify any language related questions if needed. Assistance available in English, German, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish.
Your Course Director will be available for questions and any assistance when preparing home assignments, presentations and general considerations throughout the whole IDC program.
Furthermore, all of our dive center facilities will be available to you throughout the IDC, including TV, video, white boards, slide projectors and our complete Padi library.
From our past experience we know that extra academic and open water control presentations, plus additional water skills practice, will help you to become successful during the IE, and more importantly afterwards in real life teaching situations. By providing an excellent service and support, we ensure that you can fully concentrate on your IDC, turning you into a truly professional dive educator.
Recent changes to the PADI IDC program has divided the program in two parts:
Part 1: The PADI AI (Assistant Instructor/3 day`s)
Part 2: The PADI OWSI (Open Water Scuba Instructor/4 day`s)
The IDC which was 7 days before this change is still 7 days. The new revised AI curriculum is now the first 3 days of the IDC and the last 4 days is now called the OWSI (Open Water Scuba Instructor) program.
We still offer our IDC candidates the extended 12 day IDC program.
New Course Materials
IDC Candidate Workbook have been changed and the Confined water and Open water lesson plan slates have been updated.
Along with the revised Course Director Manual and updated evaluation slates, new digital presentations are available including photos, diagrams and video clips from various PADI videos, diver retention programs and business principles for the dive instructor.
Candidates come away better prepared to offer complete programs that will attract future dive customers.
Teaching children with more focus on youth diving and how to plan promotions to youth and family. Prescriptive teaching and how to make more effective use of available media and training materials. How to organize and conduct the Peak Performance Buoyancy- and Project Aware Specialties.
We understand the importance of using only the latest educational materials. The candidates must now complete all course knowledge reviews prior to the start of the IDC. Candidate knowledge development presentations (academic presentations) now include practical local dive information, dive equipment and real world examples.
